Youth Aspiration Olympics

YA Olympics logo 2018-final2 red

February 2nd 2018

This fabulous day celebrated the international community that makes up Yorkshire Academy.

The school transformed into an Olympic playground and international gastronomic experience!

In the tradition, and spirit of the Olympic games, the day will started out with a parade of flags. With all the countries represented at YA, this is a spectacular moment. We encouraged everyone to proudly wear their National Costume and walk under their country or country of heritage ́s flag.

There were sport and craft activities, inspired by the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, for all the children, cottage to 5th grade. Everyone ate their way around the world at the International Food Court, YA’s very own global picnic!

Olympic Day at Yorkshire Academy

Parade of Flags – Yorkshire Academy Olympics

Friday 15th April 2016

YA Olympic Logo

In true Olympic spirit, we will start the Olympics by holding a parade to celebrate our school’s diverse international community. All YA students, from MDO to 5th grade, including their families, will walk in this parade.

Our Yorkshire families come from a mix of different countries. We would like to celebrate all of them!

According to the Olympic Tradition, the delegations in the parade will be in alphabetical order, except for Greece, which leads the parade, and the host country, Brazil, that brings up the rear. YA families will march under their national flags and join in the fun by wearing their nation’s colors, spirit, and/or costume.

The International food court is a great way to experience cuisine from many continents.

We are so looking forward to seeing how many countries will be represented this year!
